The challenge for commissioners in the North West is to deliver the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes for the people who live here. Our goal therefore is to commission as effectively and efficiently as possible. One contribution to effective commissioning in the North West is this website, developed by the Institute of Public Care, to help commissioners in our region navigate this new, often complex, policy environment. 

The Roadmap is meant for anyone tasked with strategic commissioning in health and social care - it doesn't tell you what to do, but it does provide guidance, resources and support to help you through the commissioning process.

This section of the website will enable commissioners in our region to share good practice. It includes a definition, glossary of terms and principles of effective commissioning for the North West, as well as commissioners' contact details and regional case studies.

The site represents only the first few 'chapters' of the joint commissioning 'story' in our region. It is an opportunity for the ongoing exchange of experience and support for commissioners.
